We DID get that big snowstorm on the 27th and I went out and took these pics. I love my town in the snow. It was soooooo quiet!!!

Of Snow, Plows and Backaches!
We're expecting more snow tomorrow and Thursday, but my back is saved (and so is my neighbour's) cos with the help of my niece, I've found someone to plow out the lane! Yay!
Boxing Day Update
Well, Christmas has come and gone for another year. As usual, with lots of little kiddies now, we had a wonderful time - even though both my sister and I were sick and had laryngitis (truly a 'Silent Night'). Lots of good food, family, laughs, games and of course, presents.
On the 22nd we went to the 34th annual Caroling Party at Nora and Kim's. The only pic I have is this one of my grandson, as we left for Ottawa. We wore matching flashing Rudolph noses:
Because of our German Heritage, we celebrate on Christmas Eve (Heilige Nacht). This year, dinner was hosted by my daughter and it was delicious. My daughter-in-law arranged a 'Family Feud' game (boys against girls) and the boys won (although I would say it was a questionable victory....
The Christmas tree at Clair and Glenn's:
Christmas breakfast at my house and my laryngitis was full blown. Still had a good time. Mum had slept over and helped with the food prep and the kids did the clean-up. We opened our stockings - lots of goodies, including what I thought was a mini-scrabble game (I'm a word game freak) but turned out to be chocolates! yummmm
Cancelled my Boxing Day Brunch so I sent all the goodies home with the kids and my Mum. So today (Boxing Day) is being spent in silence, with sporadic coughing fits...eating brie and chocolate - Life is Good.

Later that same day....
My son, Matt, is building me a 'soft box' for taking proper pics of my jewelry. Here's a 'test run' of Annie's Bracelet:
The Storm Continues.....
Sick again with this flu/cold/whatever it is. It just seems to 'boomerang' back every week, but....
I just looked out my front window and there was my neighbour, Ron, shoveling out the 'hump' at the end of mydriveway. This guy is really beyond belief....always there to lend a hand.
And NOW, my friend, Barbie, called to tell me she and Andre are coming over to finish the job! I have the most wonderful friends....
But I think it's time to sign that snow-removal contract again!

End of the World Sale
So, since the world hasn't ended yet, the sale is still on. Apparently, I've sold a couple of necklaces already. Here are some photos of the set-up at Ali's:
and the display of my stuff:

Snow Day!
Woke up to big fat wet flakes of snow and the realization that I wouldn't make the drive into the city for my sister's End of the World Sale. I'd been working all week on some new pieces to bring, but they'll just have to wait for the next sale.
Here's the view from my window this morning:
Spent an hour shoveling the drive (this is 'heart attack snow' - wet and heavy) with the help of my neighbour who did the 'hump' for me. But now as I look out, it's all filled in again, so guess what I'll be doing tonight? I woke at 6.30 and saw the woman across the street shoveling and thought 'she's nuts' and went back to bed with a cuppa. But she was probably smarter than I. Although she HAS been out there 3 times already today. This can probably be attributed to her German genes which tell her 'every bit of snow must be removed'! I have the same genes, but they're not so fussy.

Snow and Freezing Rain...the perfect time to be...
...making a black forest cake for my son's 37th b-day (and my grand-newphew's 2nd). Hope the country roads to my niece's house aren't too slippery by the time I leave here.
Here's a bracelet I made last summer:
and a choker....tried rotating this, but iphoto would NOT co-operate. Tilt your head to the right!

Cookies!!
Just got back from our 32nd (!!!!) annual Christmas cookie exchange so I'm all set for cookies for the hols.
I wanted to wear something seasonal to our get-together, so I buffed up a bunch of beads from my stash and made this one:
I also sold a few pieces and got an order for a bracelet! God bless my friends! :)

A Room With a View?
This was what the world looked like outside my window this morning. The freezing rain has changed to 'just rain' but it's not exactly getting me in the Christmas spirit!
Spent some time working on beads, then forgot to adjust the temperature on my oven and nearly poisoned myself with the fumes! Luckily, I caught them in time and I think they'll survive to live as part of a big bead necklace. Until I have that made, here are a couple more pics of some of my necklaces:
